„Photography has always been a great hobby for me, and together with my passion for the nature and its details, this is a great combination. Making money? Not much, but keeping my hobby going. It’s important that photography is fun, not business…”
Egil Michaelsen has always been fond of nature and its perfect details. This was the reason why the ambitious hobby-photographer, who was born in 1952, focused his passion for photography on flowers. Nowadays there are already 980 Norwegian species on his website – and still there will be more. But of course he also takes pictures of other motives, i.e. birds and butterflies. |
Apart from some cheap cameras he used during his childhood, he has always photographed with Olympus cameras. His first SLR he bought in 1979, which was an OM-2N: “It was a very good camera and I still have it, but I must say, it is not in use anymore.” When the digital camera area began, he acquired a C-5050, of whose image quality he was already overwhelmed. Later on he used E-500, E-330 and finally ends up now in possessing an E-3, which he finds an ‘excellent camera’.
